David Ogbolumani is a global IT security expert with over two decades of expertise in technology risk assessment and management, information security and privacy, legal compliance, team development, and global organization leadership. David is a dynamic leader who is known for his advanced problem-solving skills and ability to bridge the gap between departments to form collaborative teams. He is a robust and effective communicator and public speaker who brings insight and ingenuity to each project. David serves on the academic board of the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Center for Cybersecurity and Forensic Education, which has been recognized nationally as an academic center of excellence in cyber defense education.

David Ogbolumani has an impressive IT career that spans decades. In addition to his academic credentials and Juris Doctor degree, David has accumulated numerous certifications over the years, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and European and US Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E/US). David is well-versed in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is critical to EU privacy law and human rights. The European Union’s data protection and privacy laws cover the European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA), including EU nations, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

In addition to David Ogbolumani’s broad knowledge of global data and privacy rights, another unique quality about David is his combination of law credentials and IT qualifications. This puts him in a league of his own when competing with other IT security professionals since it’s rare to find an IT expert with a law degree. David earned his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Louisiana Tech University. He began working as a technical support analyst and desktop lead for TEK Systems in Chicago. David learned the ins and outs of troubleshooting software and hardware issues and worked directly with clients on computer systems’ front- and back-end. David quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to senior network analyst. In addition to working full time, David received his graduate degree from Northwestern University, concentrating on Information Systems Project Management.

David Ogbolumani earned his Juris Doctor at Concord Law School in Los Angeles and passed the California bar right after graduation. As an active member of the California State Bar, David is admitted to practice in state and federal courts.

David has worked with GE, SunGard Data Systems, Philips Electronics, Northern Trust Bank, JP Morgan, BP-Amoco, Abbott Lab, World Bank,  Aon Corp, CNA Insurance, and the US Government. His expertise covers Network Security, IT Operations, Systems Auditing, and Project Management.
